Light, framing and dusting: three habits that keep archival prints vivid for decades.
Sunlight is the quiet enemy of every print. Ultraviolet fades inks and yellows paper, so hang pieces away from direct sun or choose glazing with UV protection for bright rooms.
Framing matters more than most buyers expect. Acid-free mounts stop the brown edge creep you see on old posters, and a small gap between glass and paper prevents sticking in humid months.
Dust frames with a dry microfibre cloth and never spray cleaner directly onto glass. With those three habits, an archival giclée print will outlive the sofa it hangs above.
