How to Style a Gallery Wall in a Small Room

Anchor pieces, even spacing and the floor-first trick for walls that feel collected.
A gallery wall is the fastest way to make a rented room feel like yours. Start with one anchor piece at eye level, roughly 145 centimetres from the floor to its centre, then build outward.
Mix frame sizes but keep two things consistent: a tight colour story and even spacing of five to eight centimetres between frames. Lay the whole arrangement on the floor first and photograph it before a single nail goes in.
Small rooms love odd numbers. Three prints beat four, and a tall narrow stack draws the eye up and makes low ceilings feel higher. Finish with one oversized piece leaning on a shelf rather than hung; it keeps the wall feeling collected, not crowded.
